Stress reducers

Some useful advice if you feel stressed

  1. Accept that there is only so much you can manage and do. Give priority to your focus areas.
  2. Try to achieve a good balance between your work life and your private life that suits your situation. Keep your work life separate from your private life. Take your time and do not make too many appointments. Go home from work when your normal workday is over. Learn to relax and get enough sleep.
  3. Manage your time. Delegate work/tasks whenever possible. Prepare a realistic plan for your day. Decline unimportant tasks.
  4. Involve yourself in development plans and decision making at work as well as at home.
  5. Reflect over when you lose control. What situations give you a feeling of negative stress? How do you react when it happens? What can you do to change your behaviour pattern?
  6. Establish a social network and appreciate it. Spend time on the people you like being with. Ask for support and help. Tell them how you feel.
