Below are ten good reasons for taking out a health insurance with IHI. Read them and contact us for a good health insurance offer.
1. I’m planning to live in the US for a number of years. Will your insurance cover me there - and will it cost me extra?
- With an International Health and Hospital Plan you have worldwide cover, including in the US. The only areas where we apply a premium loading are in war zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
2. I live in an area with poor possibilities of treatment. Can I be transported to another area or country with better possibilities of treatment?
- With an International Health and Hospital Plan you are covered in the whole world, also in the US. If you have taken out the supplementary cover for Medical Evacuation & Repatriation and you become seriously ill or involved in and accident, we will arrange for your being transported to a suitable place of treatment, should qualified treatment not be available locally. If you become ill you can always contact our 24-hour emergency service. You can get in touch with them day and night and they will arrange treatment and medical evacuation.
3. I suffer from a chronic disease. Can I take out insurance?
- Basically, yes. If you suffer from a chronic disease you will need to complete an application form and state any relevant medical conditions. Our medical consultants will then evaluate your medical history and consider if, and on which conditions, we can offer you an insurance.
4. I live abroad and I am not completely sure about what kind of the treatment I can get here. Can I speak to a doctor if I or any one else in the family become ill?
- Yes, our friendly and competent medical consultants and nurses will always provide you with good advice on treatments and places of treatment anywhere in the world.
5. What happens if I become ill outside normal opening hours?
- If you become ill you can contact our 24-hour emergency service - day and night. They arrange treatment and medical evacuation, if necessary.
6. If I make many claims due to serious illness, will the price on my insurance go up, or can you cancel the insurance?
- No the price of your insurance does not go up if you make claims. We guarantee lifetime cover, which means we cannot cancel your insurance even if you use it a lot.
7. I go in for a lot of sports. Am I covered by your insurance?
- Yes, we cover sport activities, except professional sports. If you are a professional athlete contact us for a special offer.
8. If I am hospitalised, will I need to pay the expenses out of my own pocket?
- No, if you are hospitalised, our 24-hour emergency service will arrange direct payment with the hospital.
9. Will the insurance cover me if I become pregnant?
- Yes. However, there is a twelve month waiting period in connection with pregnancy and childbirth, which means that if you give birth 12 month after the commencement date of your insurance, the baby will automatically be fully covered from birth.
10. I often move countries in connection with my job. Will I need to translate my bills into Danish myself? What happens if I am hospitalised in Spain, for instance? Can you communicate with a hospital in Spanish?
- You will not need to translate your bills into Danish. We employ many nationalities and speak more than 30 different languages.
All employees in our 24-hours emergency service speak a minimum of Danish and English, and there is also always someone on duty who speaks Spanish, French, German or another language.
