How to switch to Worldwide Health Options

Worldwide Health Options is our new healthcare plan for individuals and families. For current IHHP (International Health & Hospital Plan) members, this page answers questions about how to transfer to Worldwide Health Options.

Worldwide Health Options is a uniquely flexible healthcare plan that allows you to choose from a variety of options that suit you, and includes many new features:

  • cover for post transplantation anti-rejections drugs is included
  • the Wellbeing option provides new cover for dental and optical benefits plus a full health screen check-ups for adults and children
  • the rental of medical equipment such as crutches is now available as part of the Worldwide Medicines and Equipment option
  • maternity home delivery is included in the core cover, Worldwide Health Insurance

As well as these new and improved benefits and limits, Worldwide Health Options also includes comprehensive cancer cover.

How will I find out about Worldwide Health Options?
You will receive information about Worldwide Health Options in your renewal letter or read about the new plan here
When are these letters sent out?
Your IHHP renewal letter will be sent out two months before your renewal date.
When can I switch from an IHHP policy to the Worldwide Health Options plan?
You can only switch at renewal.
What will happen if I have exclusions on my policy?

If you have exclusions on your policy they will automatically be carried over to your Worldwide Health Options plan.

What will happen if I have loadings on my IHHP policy and I switch to Worldwide Health Options?

If you want to switch to Worldwide Health Options before the loaded version has been launched, you will have the loadings converted into exclusions. You will however be given the opportunity to convert your exclusions back to loadings once the loaded version of Worldwide Health Options has been launched.

This will be determined using the medical history that you supplied at the point you originally joined IHHP.
